RRB ALP Online Application

The candidates should be careful about the instructions provided in the RRB ALP notification before filling the online application.

There are certain documents needed to get ready before going ahead with the RRB ALP online application process.

The pre-requisites of the Online application are as follows:

  • Details of Aadhar Card
  • Valid mobile number and email ID
  • Scanned images of Photograph and signature
  • Scanned copy of caste certificate
  • Details of the online payment

How to Apply online?

The steps to fill the online application form are as follows:

  1. Step 1- Go to the official website of the RRB of your region.
  2. Step 2- Click on the “apply now” option.
  3. Step 3- Fill the necessary details like father’s name, Date of Birth, Phone number, etc.
  4. Step 4- Verify your phone number and email id through an OTP.
  5. Step 5- After verification, a registration ID will be issued
  6. Step 6- Re-login to the website with your Registration ID and password
  7. Step 7- Fill the other details asked for in the required field
  8. Step 8- Upload the scanned copy of your photograph and signature of the required dimension
  9. Step 9- Make the payment or upload your payment details
  10. Step 10- Review your application once again and click submit button
  11. Step 11- The application will be displayed on the screen for downloading and taking the print out.

RRB ALP Eligibility

The RRB ALP eligibility criteria are set by the Railway Recruitment Board. It is mandatory for candidates to full fill in Assistant Loco Pilot recruitment eligibility in order to appear for the exam, otherwise, the candidature stands cancelled.

The RRB ALP Eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Nationality
  • Age
  • Educational Qualification

The RRB conducts the ALP Exam every year to recruit candidates into various posts under the Railway Ministry. This article gives detailed information on the ALP eligibility related to nationality, qualification, age limit.

ALP Eligibility Criteria

RRB ALP Eligibility- Based on Nationality

A candidate must be either:

  1. a citizen of India,
  2. A subject of Nepal,
  3. A subject of Bhutan,
  4. Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

RRB ALP Eligibility- Important Pointers:

  • A candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination.
  • However, Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India has to be submitted during Document Verification failing which his/her candidature shall be rejected.

As per the RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria, the Assistant Loco Pilot age limit is 18 to 28 years.

RRB ALP Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The RRB Syllabus for the Assistant Loco Pilot is designed to select the best candidates for the position of Assistant Loco Pilot in the Indian Railways.

This section will cover all the aspects of the syllabus as well as exam pattern for RRB ALP.

The exam pattern for RRB ALP Exam involves the following 2 stages:

  1. CBT Stage – I
  2. CBT Stage – II (Consists of Part A and Part B)

*Note: For RRB ALP CBT Stage- II, it is necessary for the candidates to pass both Part A and Part B. In case the candidate does not pass either Part A and Part B, then he/she will not complete the RRB ALP Recruitment process.

CBT Stage – I is a standard exam for the ALP Technicians post, while CBT Stage – II is common for the ALP exam.

Q.1. What is the qualifying marks for RRB ALP?

Ans. The Minimum qualifying marks for Computer Based Test-2 is 40% for general candidates and 30% for OBS and SC category candidates and who belong to ST category need to score 25% marks. The RRB ALP 2018-19 Cut Off for normalized marks is announced with RRB ALP result.

Q.2. What is the RRB ALP Salary offered to candidates on qualifying the ALP exam?

Ans. The minimum RRB ALP salary that’s being offered is around 18,000 per month whereas the maximum salary offered to Assistant Loco Pilot is approx. 60,000 to 70,000 rupees.

Q.3. Is ITI degree compulsory for Loco Pilot?

Ans. Yes, a candidate in order to become an Assistant loco pilot through RRB ALP exam must have an ITI degree, either after 10th or 12th standard. Candidates having a diploma degree in the field of automobile/mechanical/electrical/electronics are also eligible to apply for RRB ALP exam.

Ans. In the first two Computer Based Tests, Multiple Choice Question format is followed. While the third stage of RRB ALP & Technician is CBAT in which the candidates are given five test batteries.

Q.7. Is the Third stage i.e. CBAT, of RRB ALP mandatory for all?

Ans. No, Candidates who have applied for RRB ALP Technicians need not appear for CBAT stage but the candidates who have applied for RRB Assistant Loco Pilot and have cleared the CBT II are required to appear for CBAT.
